760.000 Lungekræft er den hyppigste årsag til kræft relaterede dødsfald med en gennemsnitlig 5-årsoverlevelse på 28% og 1,8 millioner dødsfald/år globalt. Computed Tomography (CT) vejledte lungebiopsier er altafgørende for diagnostik og valg af behandling. Valget af en biopsipistol til lungebiopsier er altid et kompromis og proceduren udfordres i tiltagende grad af mindre forandringer med væsentlig risiko for “sampling error” samt et øget behov for mere vævsmateriale til avancerede analyser. Implementering af lungekræft screening og forbedret diagnostiske værktøjer forventes at udfordre disse forhold yderligere.
Vores produkt er en optimeret biopsipistol, i.e. MultiBiopsy, dedikeret til CT-vejledte lungebiopsier med en nyskabende og patenterbar funktionalitet: multiple biopsier fra ét indstik. Produktet sandsynliggør optimal tumor sampling og konklusive biopsier. Risikoen for re-biopsi og komplikationer reduceres, hvilket resulterer i mindsket patient ubehag og økonomiske besparelser. Vi har aktuelt en tidlig koncept prototype, men der er behov for betydelig udvikling. Innofounder tillader modning af en funktionel prototype. På lang sigt vil produktet betyde en forskel for patienterne og samtidig repræsentere en attraktiv forretning.
